Church Completes French Campaign

Caroline Church has finished a wonderful campaign for EDF, sponsors of the French Rugby Team. The campaign is a witty play on words that have a second meaning within a rugby game, for example the stamp (which is a tackle) and the candle or the tie. Her classic style lays well on the old parchment type backgrounds. The illustrations are appearing as magazine ads right now and were commissioned by Nicola Harlamoff at EURO RSCG C&O

Church Works With Chi For Yaris

The distinctive work of Caroline Church has been put to outstanding use in a set of three illustrations for the Toyota Yaris. Commissioned by Kathy Howes at Chi Advertising, the idea was for Caroline to create a set of mock crests for the car: each one representing an example of something which, although small in size, is also very "big" in other important ways. At first glance these crests appear quite traditional, but closer inspection shows they are constructed from an almost bizarre selection of objects that combine to show examples of "bigsmall". So we have the Espresso ("small and stimulating"), the Microchip ("small and intelligent") and the Porcupine ("small and safe"). A deceptively clever idea throughout, and expertly brought to life by Caroline

Pursued

Caroline Church is behind this witty illustration for a new red wine produced by none other than Hollywood actor Kyle McLachlan.
In collaboration with winemaker Eric Dunham, Caroline's wine label design appears on a new red wine from Kyle called "Pursued by Bear". Kyle himself has been promoting the wine on a few US talk shows, and goes into more detail in an article here.

Vintage Style

Bringing a perfectly vintage look to the British dinner table is Caroline Church and her fine illustrations for Marks and Spencer’s meat range.
Each of the 6 illustrations is styled with a similar treatment, with each animal seen in profile, and the terrific linework conjuring up a reassuringly worn, etched look.

The Sauce Always Justifies The Means

The latest from Caroline Church sees her bringing to life some amusing proverbs with her unique illustrations.

Commissioned by Lisa Lee at Crispin Porter & Bogusky, for Domino’s Pizza she explains, "They were after a serious engraved feel but with a tongue in cheek note. The illustrations play on the idea that proverbs guide and inspire Domino's to perfect their pizzas.." The illustrations feature on their new boxes and on the Pizza Proverbs site.
