Miss Led's Hellohead
Miss Led has taken part in the Hellohead project where a number of artists have paired up to paint or draw portraits of each other. Here, Miss Led has beautifully captured Lauren Crow. Miss Led says " I’m just one of 60 artists taking part across Europe. This includes some of my favourite illustrators, such as Elodie, Ruben Ireland and Conrad Roset. The work will result in a group show in London, some time in June. Proceeds from the originals and prints sold will go to the National Autism Society. This year, being the 50th birthday of the charity, is celebrating the theme of friendship. More on Hellohead.

Olympia Illustration Competition Winner
Lucia Emanuela Curzi has won second prize in the Olympia Illustration Competition! The brief was to produce a poster
design that marked their milestone anniversary while celebrating the
venue’s rich culture and heritage, with the poster being featured in their commemorative
125th anniversary campaign. Lucia created her piece in her spare time earlier in the year, and only just missing out on the first prize place, the organisers called her to say they would be making a 'special' second prize place for her! Lucia was able to join the celebration at The Olympia Theatre where she has been photographed with her art.
And here is a movie of the celebration...

Gigi Istanbul
Earlier this year Miminne completed a project for a large restaurant group in Turkey. Istanbul Doors have opened GIGI, and commissioned Miminne to produce six large images of female heads. She says "The restaurant interior was themed around the famous Turkish story of the nightingale and the rose. Since Istanbul in itself is a place where the East meets the West, I tried to draw women with different cultural backgrounds, trying to differentiate with accessories, make-up, hair styles and physical features. The colours are predominantly in the shades of different reds and pinks, to match to the designated area." The artworks are now on display, reproduced to fit the scale of the space, each measuring approximately 1.6m x 2.35m. Miminne also says "If you happen to be in Istanbul, why not enjoy a drink or two sitting in front of my artwork!"

An Illustrated Allotment Alphabet
'An Illustrated Allotment Alphabet' based on Greg Becker's blog drawings is available now as a fantastic book. Greg's original plot 52 blog, which is ' A personal visual record of the triumphs and trials of a vegetable gardener. Detailing the ongoing struggles with pests, the weather, low flying golf balls, and a fear of deep digging.' has been the inspiration behind this latest publication, and one that is begging to be on a coffee table. The book is purchasable from blurb.co.uk, an online bookstore as an ebook or printed version.
