Thanksgiving Raffle
Tyson Mangelsdorf has created this art for the Oregon Lottery currently being used as a Thanksgiving promotion. The campaign, well and truly launched can be seen all over Oregon. Tyson says "The most challenging part of this project was getting the composition just right. The design had to accommodate the text and logo placement as well as capturing the relative scale of the turkey, sign and hunter in a way that seemed fairly natural. Working through these elements resulted in several sketches that capture the evolution of this project."
Happy Thanksgiving!

Which? Lettering
Ruth Rowland was delighted to be asked to create the cover lettering for the latest issue of Which? Magazine. It features an article about energy tariffs and how few people understand them. Ruth says "This illustrative piece uses different styles, weights and sizes of lettering to indicate the different answers given and the general confusion on the subject."
Vogue Portugal
Nuno Da Costa creates this powerfully beautiful art for Vogue Portugal as a gift. The illustration was to celebrate their 10th anniversary and a year of Vogue and Nuno working together. Nuno says "The pendants on the necklace are from other countries that also have their very own editions of Vogue with the portuguese pendant taking pride of place in the centre." The team loved it so much they printed it inside the current issue.

Yorkshire Tea
Yorkshireman Andrew Hutchinson was delighted
to be asked to re-design the packaging for Taylors of Harrogate's iconic
"Yorkshire Tea" and "Yorkshire Gold" brands. The
brief was to make a more realistic style of image without significantly
changing the overall look of the package. The illustration was also to include
familiar features of the Yorkshire countryside; Andrew's painting captures it's beauty, the
Dales' Ribblehead viaduct, Castle Bolton and the Moors' Rosedale mines. Super job!
Crafty Types
Lettering artist Ruth Rowland will be giving a talk about her work on the evening of 13th November at St. Bride Library. Tickets are available from the library website and will 'help to fund this important resource for future generations'
"Join us at St Bride Library for an evening celebrating the craft of the letter. From considerations of language and the design process, to spontaneous mark-making and precision, leading practitioners Catherine Dixon, Si Scott, Ruth Rowland and Sam Winston will explore the subject through their own working practices."
Worth a visit if you're in the area: St Bride Library, Bride Lane, Fleet Street, London EC4Y 8EE.

WeightWatchers Magazine
Lucia Emanuela Curzi's fluid lines can be seen in WeightWatchers Magazine this month. She was commissioned to supply two images; a full page spread for the article 'Confidence in a Bottle' and a smaller for the following page. She says "The illustrations of the Dior, Jean Paul Gaultier and Thierry Mugler Angel fragrances are all inspired by the stories of three women and the memories that those fragrances remind them of (wedding, university, love story etc) as described in the article". Beautiful!
