Just out, this Mandala Colouring book for children is created by pattern expert Hannah Davies.
Published by Buster Books, this is the latest in a series designed by Hannah, she says "The book is full of wonderfully themed mandalas, ready to colour up and complete...this book was a fantastic commission to work on, I created a range of themed pages and lots of wonderful patterns to colour in! The Beetson Compendium

A dream of a job came the way of Sarah Beetson who was asked to create many illustrations to be used in a journal for Compendium. She says "It was a lovely open brief and I had control over the art direction of the entire journal illustrating quotes about natural beauty alongside florals, botanicals and birds. I even got to create my own lined pages!" The final book is a gorgeous celebration of Sarah's work as well as a handy jotter for your day's thoughts! Take a look at the journal.

Rhymes My Mother Never Told Me

Duncan Beedie's collection of illustrations for 'Rhymes My Mother Never Told Me' by Bill Burkland live up to the hilarious nature of the book. An 'anthology of puerile, childish rhymes about all things toilet-based' suited Duncan's humour down to the ground! With pieces such as 'Sweet Bread Farts', 'Tony's Tiny Bladder' and 'The Poop Between Her Toes', you can imagine how much fun Duncan had! The book is out now.

Entertaining Etiquette

'The Debrett’s Guide to Entertaining Etiquette' is brimming with the illustrative work of Kavel Rafferty. And now available to buy, this book is hard to resist purchasing because of the beauty of Kavel's drawing. Karen Wilks, designer of the book says "Working with Kavel was an absolute pleasure, with over 60 illustrations in the book we worked in batches. Kavel understood exactly what we were trying to achieve and was very accommodating and all the deadlines were met on time. The day each batch arrived was a day I really looked forward to, it was like unwrapping presents, every one was a gem and her compositions and colour palette worked perfectly. Kavel brings warmth and humour to all her work combining her painting and photoshop skills beautifully with a small nod towards her interest in the 50’s and 60’s. I very much hope we have a chance to work together again soon."

Excuse My French

Alyana Cazalet illustrates 'Excuse My French', published by Kyle Books. 

Originally commissioned for the front cover,  Alyana was then asked to make another 13 black and white drawings for the inside after much positive feedback from the Frankfurt Book Fair. Alyana says "(The) brief was to create humourous images at the opening of each chapter, providing visual intrepretation to some confusing (and amusing!) French and English idiomatic expressions." The book is out now.

Tequila Mockingbird

Towards the end of last year Lauren Mortimer illustrated 'Tequila Mockingbird'; a cocktail book published by Running Press.  The book which contains recipes based on classic novels is now out and available to buy!

Lauren was commissioned to produce 40 full page illustrations, as well as the cover. She says "My job was to illustrate the recipes incorporating key themes from the book upon which it was based. I used only graphite, creating quite surreal images throughout; (Lord of the Mai Tai's, Charlie and the Chocolate Faketini, Gin Eyre are a few of the titles....), it was such a fun and great creative project for me...it also got a great review in the Evening Standard (news)paper.".

The Edible Garden Show

An illustrator with a passion for his allotment aswell as the art he creates, Greg Becker is excited about appearing at The Edible Garden Show at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire next week.  Greg will be signing his Allotment books at the 3 day event which starts on 15th March and is 'the only national event dedicated to growing your own fruit, vegetables and home produce'. Greg's book signing slot is at 1pm on the first day, and he is hopeful he willl meet a few gardening celebrities! These images are from 'Wheelbarrow & Chips' recipes from the wild allotment.

Echo A La Mode

Echo Chernik's 3rd Art Book 'Echo A La Mode' has come to fruition through the backing of her loyal fans and supporters via Kickstarter. This funding platform for creative projects has allowed Echo to raise over $14,000 to put together an 'indulgent must have' full of some of her finest works including the 'Shadowrun portraits' and 'Goddesses of Cuisine.' She said at the start of the project "This is the book that my fans have been asking for - one featuring only the best of my work. The base required amount will allow me to produce a 64-page soft cover version and a limited number of hard cover versions of ECHO A LA MODE, an art book featuring art, notes, sketches, photos, and details about my process that everyone has been begging me for. Stretch goals will be added to improve the length and quality of the book. For example, ECHO NOUVEAU successfully reached stretch goals that allowed an increase to 100 pages, a hard-cover, a beautiful spot varnish, and gold foil embossed slip-cases for Kickstarter backers and collectors only." Now the financial goals have been exceeded, the book is due to be released in the early Summer. More information on the Kickstarter website.
