Bill Wyman Logo
Ruth Rowland works on the new Bill Wyman logo for his official web site.
Ruth says "The development stage included a range of hand rendered styles, from handwriting akin to his own signature to this wilder version of his name using a dry brush to create a distressed, edgy mark. Combined with the designer's bold background and retro photo, the lettering makes a powerful impact on the music legend's homepage."

Abibliophobia
Do you have abibliophobia? If not and you're unsure of what it is, Vicky Scott's recent illustration for Smart B*tches Trashy Books explains it all! She says " I illustrated the word Abibliophobia (the fear of running out of reading material) by showing a girl and her cat camping out in the library and desperately trying to stuff books into the tent." The piece is currently being used on the book review site.

Starbucks China
Mark Oliver's magnificent work for Starbucks China is now live. JWT Shanghai commissioned Mark for ten illustrations, each of
a different planet to represent ten Frappuchino flavours. The
illustrations also had to accommodate a photographic image of the Frappuchino. Mark says "The plan was to create an amazing HTML 5 animation for the web
and all illustrations had to be complete within three weeks." See it here.

Paxton: Keys versus Keycard
Nick Murray Willis's work for Paxton continues with this animation explaining the benefits of a keycard in the workplace. Nick's clever use of line and clear thinking has produced this piece of moving art which gets the message across with a sense of fun. Nick says “I had to approach this animation differently to the previous Paxton animation, I thought showing the advantages of the keycard at the same time as disadvantages of an ordinary key would be really effective. The timing had to be spot on so not to confuse the viewer with the double scenario.” Nick has been commissioned to produce one animation per month for Paxton, to be used on their website. Watch the animation now.

Readathon
Keith Robinson was really pleased to be asked to redesign the branding for the children's reading charity Readathon. He had to create a unique character (now named Jamie) in a simple and bold style to be used on web and print branding, and also to design a hand-drawn Alphabet for the logo and other 'Headlines' text. Readathon encourages reading for pleasure, reading for fundraising and reading to help sick children, so a very worthy cause, Keith says "The logo itself had to incorporate Jamie being lifted up by a balloon, to convey the joy of reading for pleasure. In the future I will be creating more illustrations for use on promotional material. They will feature Jamie and other characters as they enjoy the adventure of reading."
