Mylo Xyloto on your Phone

Including art by Alex Fuentes, Coldplay have released the first three issues of their comic 'Mylo Xyloto' as a download for your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. Available in ebook format from the Apple iBookstore and itunes, this comes as a nice edition to the physical comic which was launched last year.

Fantasy Flight Games

 

Anthony J Foti has worked with Fantasy Flight Games for some time, and three of the Star Wars projects recently completed are now out. Star Wars: The Card Game is a strategy game for 2 players, with future expansions being released every couple of months, one of which shows Anthony's Darth Vader art on the cover. The other two products are part of the "Edge of the Empire" line of roleplaying game products, including a beginner set and a "Game Master's Kit". Must haves for any Star Wars fan!

My Monster Mayhem

Sholto Walker has completed an interesting project working with Digital Leaf. Monster Mayhem is a childrens book and app; using the same art for both Sholto learned much from this project and is happy with the outcome. Both the book and the app are out now.

GOSH Monsters

New illustrator with us Duncan Beedie, has been having fun with this charity project for Great Ormond Street Hospital. Primary school children and patients at the hospital were asked to design some monsters which were then given to professional illustrators to develop. Duncan was asked to redraw a monster called 'Squiggle Butt' seen here, which was originally created by children at Normond Croft Primary School. The whole project has been turned into a fantastic book led by the project's curator, Clark Beecroft. It is due out on May 14th and will raise money for Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital. Grumpity Grump's Lumpity Stump

Pete Pachoumis's latest venture into children's books has created a storm. "Grumpity Grump's Lumpity Stump" is a charming story about friendship, written and illustrated by Pete. Haemophilia Monster

Sholto Walker has completed a fun yet sobering commission for a leading specialist UK advertising agency. The brief was to design a mostly friendly monster to represent the rare blood disorder haemophilia that predominately affects males. The aim of the campaign was to inform young children who suffer with the disease about how to live safely with it. The character had to be represented in a positive and entertaining way while reflecting the particular nature of the disorder as closely as possible. Sholto says " This I did by designing a bright red pet monster, Hemon, that was, while potentially threatening, mostly benign and friendly if looked after and treated with respect by his friend, Max, the ten-year-old boy he lives with. I drew the characters as vignettes in various scenarios and activities and also produced three four-page comic strips featuring Max and Hemon in various simple short stories."
