A London Story

The London Transport Museum have been using Anne Wilson's city inspired image to advertise the lead up to the Serco Prize for illustration 2014.
The theme for this year's competition is 'London Stories' with the winners announced mid February and the start of the exhibition based on the theme. Anne will also be running a workshop at the exhibition in the Transport Museum on the evening of the 14th February as part of the opening, which will include "a bar and DJ and storytelling for adults on board some of the heritage vehicles; a chance to illustrate your own London Story with short illustration workshops, and to strike a pose in a photo-booth with a choice of props". Foire De Lyon

Danny Allison is commissioned by Publicis Lyon to create an image for 'Foire de Lyon'.
The event in March, which will be celebrating sixty years of Rock takes place annually in Lyon, France. Danny's cool lion illustration was born from this link to the host city.

Once Upon A Time

Bee Willey will be taking part in 'Once Upon A Time'; an exhibition celebrating Children's Book Illustrators of East Anglia.
Opening on 25th January, the show takes place at Ipswich Art School and includes original artwork from artists such as Edward Ardizzone, Michael Foreman,  Janet and Anne Grahame Johnstone and Helen Oxenbury. Bee says "I am very happy to be showing five images here as part of a large show at the Ipswich Art School Building. This is one of the artworks included as well as older pre-digital pieces . It is great to be there amongst great illustrators!". Running until the beginning of May, admission to the exhibition is free.

Zoot Style

Elena Viltovskaia illustrates for Toronto based publication Worn.

The biannual magazine discusses the cultures, subcultures, histories, and personal stories of fashion,  Elena's commission was to provide art to go with a story 'focusing on the history of Zoot suits, Zoot movement and the cultural and socio-economic circumstances'. Her creations have been used on the inside pages and look pretty cool!

Wonderhill Market

This flyer design for Wonderhill Market's September events has been created by the brilliant Vicky Scott. Held in Tooting, the market embraces a hand made and vintage theme, echoed in her illustration.
And if you wanted to see more of Vicky's art as well as this piece, pop along to Royal Teas in Greenwich where she is exhibiting until the beginning of October. She says "I'll be showing lots of Autumnal feeling pictures and the cafe does fantastic cakes!".

Ian Naylor completes a wallet cover illustration for Prog Rock Magazine.
Commissioned by Art Editor Russell Fairbrother, the illustration was for a feature on the meeting of Mike Oldfield and Richard Branson and the subsequent success of the 'Tubular Bells' LP back in the 70's. With the album cover being so iconic, the brief was to produce a slightly modern take on the original whilst retaining it's look. Ian says "The magazine has really good production values, lovely print and very well put together with a card wallet enclosing the magazine......this is my fourth wallet cover for them and they are good fun to work for. The Tubular Bells cover was fun to do but I nearly drowned at Morecambe taking photos of the sea!"

Twins UK

Being a twin herself Jessica Townsend is the perfect artist to complete several illustrations for the Twins UK 21st Anniversary Party. Hosted by the Department of Twin Research and Genetic Epidemiology, the work was exhibited at the garden party in the Guys and St. Thomas Hospital and then donated for display in the department. Jessica says "I am an identical twin and we take part in twin studies at the hospital which has over the years had a big impact on the progression of medical science and genetics".
