Commissioned for the SOGO Hong Kong 20th anniversary, Daria Jabenko creates an image exploding with beauty.
Now seen all over the city and mainland China, Daria's illustration has been used on large displays, for in-store decoration and on many gifts including purses, diaries and a 2014 calendar.

Abibliophobia

Do you have abibliophobia? If not and you're unsure of what it is, Vicky Scott's recent illustration for Smart B*tches Trashy Books explains it all! She says " I illustrated the word Abibliophobia (the fear of running out of reading material) by showing a girl and her cat camping out in the library and desperately trying to stuff books into the tent." The piece is currently being used on the book review site.

To be able to design and illustrate an invitation for your own wedding is a marvellous thing, and exactly what Jessica Townsend has done. This peach of an image full of nature and happiness invites some lucky guests to the couple's big day. Congratulations Jessica and Paul!

Elephant Parade Tour

Fresh talent with us, Victoria Scott has had the good news that her Elephant Parade 2013 design has been selected as part of the upcoming tour. Victoria will be one of the artists given a model of a baby elephant to paint with her design, which will then be exhibited in London before a year long tour to cities and towns all over the UK. Victoria says "My design " An unforgettable journey" which tells the story of the elephants journey will be auctioned off in Aid of the Asian Elephant Foundation".  

Palmolive Pleasure

Barry Patterson works with Colgate Palmolive to produce these images for a European in-store campaign. With a brief to create a border of natural ingredients used in the Palmolive range of products, Barry triumphs with these wonderful frames giving both scent and colour.

Trunki's Paddlepaks

With Duncan Beedie's fine character animation talents, Trunki's ad for the new range of summer swimming/beach bags is now aired. Duncan was brought to the project as a house client for Aardman Animations and used Adobe Flash to create the character animation for the lobster, jellyfish, octopi and clown fish. The new 'Paddlepaks', shaped like underwater creatures are a fun new range from the popular brand Trunki, the ad can be seen here.

Rosie's Etching

With the feel of a vintage postcard, this etching created by Rosie Sanders is a result of some time spent at a local workshop; hauntingly romantic, the black and white artwork is an interesting addition to Rosie's botanical studies.
Rosie is currently spending the month in Glasgow, soaking up the atmosphere whilst working at the Glasgow Print Studio and taking part in some woodcut workshops. We can't wait to see what she produces there!

Fantasy Flight Games

 

Anthony J Foti has worked with Fantasy Flight Games for some time, and three of the Star Wars projects recently completed are now out. Star Wars: The Card Game is a strategy game for 2 players, with future expansions being released every couple of months, one of which shows Anthony's Darth Vader art on the cover. The other two products are part of the "Edge of the Empire" line of roleplaying game products, including a beginner set and a "Game Master's Kit". Must haves for any Star Wars fan!

Noah's Knits

Alan Baker has done himself proud with another two animation promos for Ivy Press. 'Twas The Knits Before Christmas' and 'Noah's Knits' are the latest knitted creations to come from the amazing Fiona Goble, and Alan has used her woolly characters to advertise the books, which celebrate both Clement Clarke Moore's evocative 1822 poem and the well known biblical story.  Watch 'Twas The Knits Before Christmas'. Bun Not So Small For T S Spookytooth

Eternal man of mystery, TS Spookytooth, is currently wowing children with his first picture book for Harper Collins. Entitled: "The Small Bun", the book is one in a series of books that aim to introduce children to reading via the method of phonics. With such a young audience in mind, the brief was very simple: to provide illustrations that tie-in seamlessly with the text, and not distract from it in any way. Getting this balance between words and image was something of a challenge for Mr Spookytooth and his runaway imagination, even more so since it was his first picture book for children. But as you'll see, his colourful and delightfully humorous illustration style lends itself effortlessly to the project, resulting in one genuinely pleasing publication.

Salvation Army Art

This superb piece made by the hands of Alex Fuentes has been donated to the Salvation Army.

The art will be sold as a t-shirt and a limited edition screen-printed poster on their website. Alex says: "As always with their WARDROBE apparel line, 100% of the proceeds are donated to specific Salvation Army social services and causes. All the funds generated from my design will be donated to assist the Eluru Gilr's Hostel in India."

Howdy Chris Lensch

Fresh blood to the agency comes in the form of Michigan-based illustrator Chris Lensch.

His super bright, characteristically fun narratives have been used by such clients as McDonalds, The New York Times, Piggy Toes Press and Compaq. Check out more of his lustrous work.

Te Neus Love Birds

Madamesange has some fitting news for February. Her art has been published with Te Neues; "Love Birds" come in the form of a brand new set of 20 notecards (5 designs, 4 of each),  packaged in a gorgeous, sturdy, and reusable box, be indulgent and have a look here.

Tjader in Nylon

Japanese fashion magazine Nylon of Dazed and Confused have used Ella Tjader in a truly dreamy manner. Creating a romantic world for models in a spring denim collection, Tjader has drawn on her elegant lines to produce yet another lulling artwork. Riza Fujimoto was the commissioner.

In the Hot Seat

Among the artistic giants at last week's Chelsea Arts Club Charity event was Gray Jolliffe and his hilarious interpretation of a traditional French Louis XVII salon chair.

Twenty-three of our most eminent artists including Sir Peter Blake, Gavin Turk and Keith Coventry have adorned the chairs in aid of the Artists General Benevolent Fund and the Chelsea Arts Club Trust. Each chair was auctioned for the event—with Gray's selling for an impressive £3500.

Say Yes to Bugs

"Bug Wars" is this just-finished children's book illustrated by the talented Sholto Walker.

Commissioned by Rachel Clark of Random House, the book features 32 bug-related scenarios from Sholto. Colours were applied to the loose ink line-work in Photoshop, with a collage of textures added on top. Says Sholto: "This gives the bugs a more realistic look while still retaining the feeling of a drawing which can so easily disappear when computers get involved".
