Rosie's Etching

With the feel of a vintage postcard, this etching created by Rosie Sanders is a result of some time spent at a local workshop; hauntingly romantic, the black and white artwork is an interesting addition to Rosie's botanical studies.
Rosie is currently spending the month in Glasgow, soaking up the atmosphere whilst working at the Glasgow Print Studio and taking part in some woodcut workshops. We can't wait to see what she produces there!

Rosie's BIG Picture

This fiery beauty is a recent private commission for Rosie Sanders, one which has required to her think bigger than ever before! Measuring 83x57 inches, this canvas painting will take home in Barbados. Rosie says "It was really exciting working this large, and (I) had to reinvent my way of working. (I) am really excited about it though and it feels like a new venture."

Rosie's Courses

This summer presents the chance for budding artists to work and study alongside one of the most talented botanical painters around – Rosie Sanders. Rosie is currently running courses in Devon, the first of which took place a couple of weeks ago to great success. She is running another three this summer: one each in July, August and September. The first two concentrate solely on botanical painting, while the August course includes the option of creating an artist's book as well. (Although this course is fully booked, there will be another chance next year). October’s course is on printmaking – monotypes and drypoints – and a few places are still available. The courses can be residential, and are accompanied by a "fantastic" chef who produces the most deliciously creative food. Such is the popularity of the courses that Rosie is considering running some wintertime courses (with the emphasis on cosy log fires). In all there are spaces for nine students at a time. Elephant Parade

If there’s an elephant in your room then I hope it’s Rosie Sanders beautifully decorated example. Rosie hand painted exquisite orchids on the elephant which is one of two hundred 4ft high elephants placed around London as part of the Elephant Parade London 2010. It is a project which aims to raise funds to protect the Asian elephant. Rosie’s elephant is currently at Swallow Street near Piccadilly, where it will stay until it is auctioned off at Sothebys later this year. To see more of Rosie’s stunning work she has an exhibition coming up, it opens on the 8th June at Park Walk Gallery in Chelsea.
