Mt First Kafka is One of the Best

'My First Kafka' illustrated by Rohan Daniel Eason makes one of the thirteen 'Best Children’s, Illustrated, and Picture Books of 2013'.
Selected by journalist and writer Maria Popover of Brain Pickings, the book is Matthue Roth's adaptation of Kafka for kids. Rohan gets much praise for his work too, Maria writes " Indeed, it’s hard not to see Sendak’s fatherly echo in Eason’s beautifully haunting black-and-white drawings." Read more on the book here.

The Mistletoe Bride

Rohan Eason illustrates 'The Mistletoe Bride' by Kate Mosse.

Published by Orion, Rohan recently spent a day signing books with the author; a haunting book which includes fourteen pieces of Rohan's art. He says "the book does look beautiful", which is no surprise, with the fine examples of his images we see here. 'The Mistletoe Bride and Other Haunting Tales' is out now.

Haunted

Rohan Eason's fine style lends itself perfectly to the mysterious. And here we see his recent book jacket for Oxford University Press; William Hussey's 'Haunted' demonstrating Rohan's brilliance with this genre so well. Rohan Eason is delighted with the end result of his commission from One Peace Books in New York. "My First Kafka, Rodents, Runaways and Giant Bugs" retold by Matthue Roth with illustrations by Rohan, adapts 3 Kafka stories for the child reader, both startling and creepy. A Little Piece of Rohan

Exhibiting at The Fox Reformed until 5th May is Rohan Daniel Eason in 'A Little Piece of Me'; a collection of works showing at 'the only wine bar in Stoke Newington'. If you're local, take a look.

The Wolves Of Willoughby Chase

This masterpiece drawn by Rohan Eason appears on the front cover of the childrens' classic 'The Wolves of Willoughby Chase'. Published by Vintage, Rohan has also illustrated the sequel 'Black Hearts in Battersea' due out this month. He says "...the last illustrator to do them was one of my favourites, Edward Gorey, so I was very excited to be given the chance to do the new versions."

Rohan's Limited Edition Prints

If you're a fan of great illustration, Rohan Eason's limited edition prints aren't to be missed. Rohan has just launched his 'shop',  showing 15 of his beautiful black and white creations, high in detail and sensitivity. They are all signed, dated and printed on high quality paper. Have a look.

Art and Design Beijing

Scrapbook Notebook 5

We are very excited by the arrival of issue 5 in our Scrapbook notebook series.  The cover art is by Ian Murray.  A great article by Garrick Webster on four of our illustrators inspired by Victorian artists and thanks to Geoff Cox and Rohan Eason  for permission to reproduce an extract from "Anna and the Juniper Dog".

Allude Scarves

These very attractive scarves are the result of a collaboration between Rohan Eason and the couture label Allude Cashmere. German designer Anita Hass suggested the collaboration which gave Rohan the chance to work on 4 splendid designs. The scarves now appear on the Anita Hass website, with a couple sold out already!

Dover Street Market Installation

Rohan Eason is the man behind this installation at Dover Street Market, for Comme Des Garcon; the second launch of the book 'Anna and the Juniper Dog'.  Four of Rohan's originals from the book hang against the space which is covered in drawn threads and needles. Rohan says "(It's) quite a good coo for the book, and the installation should be making its way to the new Japanese store this year." The Filth Factory

James Palumbo's book 'Tancredi' released last month has been illustrated by Rohan Eason. This wonderfully detailed image called The Filth Factory is one of many Rohan has created. Rohan says "I think it's my best work to date, with 10 full page illustrations and 28 vignettes. It's a very enjoyable read, written for the adult market, it's my first publication of this kind, and one that I think shows how my work can be used in more contemporary themed projects." This is James Palumbo's (co-founder of the Ministry of Sound) second novel.

Hello Mr. Eason

We are delighted to bring Rohan Daniel Eason's classic style to our books.
Enriched with atmosphere, Rohan is a master of the narrative. His second children’s book "Anna and the Juniper Dog”, published by Blackmaps, is to be launched on June 9th with a show of the original works at the Horse Hospital in London. He is so excited about the children’s book genre, Rohan has written his own book which will be his first full colour story aimed at 6-10 year olds. We look forward to seeing it published later in the year.
