Shop London

Zoe More O'Ferrall is commissioned by The Evening Standard to work on their Shopping Feature.

In conjunction with Shop London, Zoe was asked to create a map plotting a journey from Oxford Street, through Carnaby Street, Regents Street, St Martins Courtyard and Seven Dials. Using her unique pen style Zoe had to include an expansive range of landmarks, shops, restaurants and hotels, she says "...I had lots of fun delving into the different areas, bringing it all to life with a festive finish. I think Liberty was my favourite building to draw, it's always been a treasured haven of mine. I'd recently drawn for the J Crew opening, so that was also nice to work on again. And as a lover of Anthropology crockery I had lots of fun drawing up all their beautiful colourful patterns!

Take a look at Mike Hall's spectacular London Panorama print design. 

This was a self-initiated project for Mike, and one which he worked on over a six month period. He says "I've had the ambition to create a large scale panorama in the style of 17th century prints for a while. The original artwork was drawn freehand with pen on Bristol Board, and measures 105 x 30 cm". The drawing, which is based on photographs taken from the view from The Shard has been exhibited at the Printspace on Kingsland Road in London.

A Map Of The World

Vic Lee is proud to be part of this scrumptious book entitled 'A Map of the World: The World According to Illustrators and Storytellers'. Published last month, Vic's intricate work sits very comfortably in this celebration of maps. More info on the book.

Delta Airways

Ruth Rowland's classy letters cover the pages of Delta Airways Sky Magazine. She was asked  to produce some hand lettered titles and a map of Paris for their stylish article about contemporary French culture. Ruth says: "This casual, edgy style of lettering was developed using a marker pen and runs throughout the article as subheadings, highlighting the work and opinions of an eclectic mix of influential French celebrities. The map of Paris has a deliberately simple, casual style, reflecting it's subject - the bohemian Left Bank and the new areas now populated by artistes and academics in the working-class districts of the city's East End."

The Captain's Log

Greg Becker is behind these superb drawings for a new book called "The Log of The Nautilus".

Commissioned by Jess Stamp at Cowley Robinson, the book details the travels of Captain Nemo in his submarine, The Nautilus: "a fascinating record of a remarkable man, an extraordinary ship and an epic and ultimately tragic voyage." The illustration here shows the route that the Nautilus took.

A Screw Loose?

Ian Naylor brings us yet another outstanding creation with this animation for Phillips Drive Systems.
Tom Davis at Brand Focus approached Ian to produce this animation to show how the Phillips Screw Company can tighten up the world. From the initial laying of the structure, the segments clang into place, giant continents follow finally locking the whole thing tight with a twist from above. Amazing stuff!
