Echo A La Mode
Echo Chernik's 3rd Art Book 'Echo A La Mode' has come to fruition through the backing of her loyal fans and supporters via Kickstarter. This funding platform for creative projects has allowed Echo to raise over $14,000 to put together an 'indulgent must have' full of some of her finest works including the 'Shadowrun portraits' and 'Goddesses of Cuisine.' She said at the start of the project "This is the book that my fans have been asking for - one featuring only the best of my work. The base required amount will allow me to produce a 64-page soft cover version and a limited number of hard cover versions of ECHO A LA MODE, an art book featuring art, notes, sketches, photos, and details about my process that everyone has been begging me for. Stretch goals will be added to improve the length and quality of the book. For example, ECHO NOUVEAU successfully reached stretch goals that allowed an increase to 100 pages, a hard-cover, a beautiful spot varnish, and gold foil embossed slip-cases for Kickstarter backers and collectors only." Now the financial goals have been exceeded, the book is due to be released in the early Summer. More information on the Kickstarter website.

ANTA Basketball is Life

Versatile Alex Fuentes tackles a big commission from China. Working with JWT Shanghai for Chinese sports brand ANTA, Alex has produced this energetic illustration to be used on TV and print on the theme Basketball is Life. It is not often that a Chinese brand works with foreign talent, which makes this commission even more special. It has also used the talents of Echo Chernik and Mart Klein for the other ads.

Flattered By Thefts
Good enough to steal – so it goes for Echo Chernik's poster work for Connecticut Opera's upcoming show 'Tosca'.
It seems the posters have gone down so well they are being stolen from the walls of restaurants, libraries, bookstores and drug stores. The story has even made TV news, while the Opera has had to order a second printing of the poster. This is Echo's third poster for the opera, and she is half-hoping the other two will be in similar demand!

Still Good Enough to Steal
More of Echo Chernik's outstanding poster work is going down a storm at the Connecticut Opera right now.
'La Cenerentola' is the second in a series of three Mucha-inspired posters for Connecticut Opera's 2008 season. As we reported last year, Echo's first poster for the opera 'Tosca' made the headlines for being repeatedly stolen from walls around town. (As yet no-one has been charged for this outrage). It will be interesting to see what happens this time.

The Privileged Few
Helping keep out the riff-raff is Echo Chernik and this stunning New Year's Eve Party invite design for the Bellagio Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.
Entitled "Eve", the illustration leans heavily towards Art Nouveau, and incorporates decorative elements such as the stained glass windows of the Bellagio casino. The invite is presented in a die cut envelope with vellum inlay.
