Council Walks With Dinosaurs

DinoZoo 2

Andy Council has been working on a large scale project with Bristol Zoo to promote the return of DinoZoo, a host of 12 life-like animatronic dinosaurs taking up residence at the attraction. Over the last few weeks, Andy has attracted crowds at local shopping centres around Bristol, who have all eagerly looked on as he creates dinosaur masterpieces using only a spray can, a 20ft by 10ft board and his imagination. Andy has also been visiting schools in Bristol and South Wales to get an insight into the young pupils' local community and buildings, through their drawings and ideas. From this material, he has created a host of dinosaur illustrations, whose bodies are comprised of various landmarks relevant to the school’s area. Each dinosaur illustration is displayed within the Bristol Zoo grounds and is there for all to see as of the DinoZoo2 launch last month. Andy said, “My work involves dinosaurs and Bristol landmarks, so the DinoZoo project at Bristol Zoo Gardens is a perfect fit for me. I enjoy involving the local community, both the people and places!”

DinoZoo2 will be open every day until Sunday September 8 2013, and is free with Zoo admission. It will give visitors the chance to get up-close to this amazing new breed of dinosaurs and learn even more about their incredible characteristics.

See No Evil

Andy Council recently took part in See No Evil in Bristol, the UK’s most ambitious and largest permanent street art project.  Council produced this large scale 'Bristol Chicken' mural alongside some of the world's biggest names in Street Art.  To help promote the event Council and four other Bristol artists were asked to do their own version of the Bristol Post's Masthead.  In his unique style the Masthead incorporates 'The Post', Bristol and a dinosaur... all in one!

The special editions of The Post could be set to become collectors editions in years to come.

Dinozoo

Bristol Zoo is currently home to a collection of life size animatronic dinosaurs. To coincide with this they asked Andy Council to produce this exclusive original illustration which can be won in their Dino Zoo competition. More info here.

Open Mike Eagle

Andy Council was very pleased to be asked to produce this crazy T Shirt design for the release of his favourite rapper's new album 4NML HSPTL.  Open Mike Eagle's release is a transatlantic collaboration; Mike Eagle is LA based while producer Awkward and artists Mr Jago and Council are all Bristol based.  This T Shirt design for 4NML HSPTL captures the crazy experimental space art rap feel of the album!

Upfest

Last month Andy Council took part in Upfest in Bristol, Europe’s largest urban art festival. Over 250 artists from around the world painted at the event and Andy produced this large scale mural piece alongside artists Masai, Stik and Inkie on the side of the Work Out Gym.
