John Walsom is happy to have this gorgeously moody watercolour accepted for the Sunday Times watercolour competition. "Pentonville Road" will go on exhibition at the Mall Galleries in September.

Pratique Des Arts

John Walsom is very pleased to have been featured in the French art magazine "Pratique Des Arts". Focussing on his oil and acrylic landscapes, the magazine has given John eight pages of coverage aswell as using his painting of Barcelona on the cover.

Pintar Rapido London

John Walsom braved the heat on what was the hottest day of the year so far in London to take part in Pintar Rapido. Meaning 'to paint quickly' the event originating in Spain is an art show that celebrates 'the urban spaces we live and work in'. Alongside hundreds of other artists, John completed two paintings, one of which was exhibited the following day at Chelsea Old Town Hall on the King’s Road where the paintings could be purchased by the public. Roger Beckett founder of Pintar Rapido London says of the event;

"Pintar Rapido is going to be a celebration of art and the city backdrop that inspires artists of all styles to create a painting in a day. I want them to capture the spirit of city – from its parks to its architecture, industrial locations to a river scene. The chaos and the calm and the people who breathe life into it. But most of all I want it to be a fun and exciting event for all those who take part."

Do You Have Soul Now?

John Walsom's city painting was recently accepted for exhibition at Bankside Gallery, home of the Royal Watercolour Society, as part of the "London Lives" exhibition which ran earlier this month.  John says, " It's called "Do You Have Soul Now?" which isn't as esoteric as it sounds - it's the piece of music I was listening to when I painted it".

Burlington Paintings

John Walsom is very excited about a new venture with Burlington Paintings who are now showing some of his rich creations at their gallery in Burlington Gardens, Mayfair, London. John Says: "They're featuring my views of London, which have already started selling, so I'm hoping it'll be a long and successful relationship."

Legally Blonde

Feast your eyes upon the richly textured illuminations of The Savoy Theatre at night, brought to life by the talented John Walsom.
He was commissioned to compose this bustling image which was presented to Sonia Friedman the main producer of the show Legally Blonde, with 25 Limited Edition prints being given to the other producers. He explains "The painting, like the show, has a very pink theme, with an image of the leading lady crossing the Strand, lots of fun to do!”
