Hesiod

Mixing pattern and texture with form and perspective, Daniel Mackie creates this energetic book cover.

Commissioned by Canadian publisher Talon books, Daniel uses his brushes to noticeable effect, illustrating a challenging title; an adaptation of Hesiod’s "two great works, Theogony and Works and Days, taking into account the poet’s essential meditative insights that paved the way for the subsequent achievements of Greek philosophy".

Charles Dickens Bicentenary

detail

Caroline Church has completed a glorious job for Royal Mail. Commissioned by Adam Giles at Interabang, Caroline has created the artwork for a presentation pack of stamps to commemorate Dickens's Bicentenary. The copy on the pack was written by Dickens's great great great granddaughter Lucinda Dickens Hawksley and the illustrations on the stamps themselves are by Joseph Clayton Clarke 1890. For more information and to see the stamps go here.
